June A. Drake

June A. Drake, 85, of 20881 State Hwy. 198 Saegertown, formerly of 19643 US Hwy. 6 & 19, Saegertown, passed away Thursday, February 20th, 2014 at Crawford County Care Center.

June was born in Pittsburgh on September 16, 1928, a daughter of the late Daniel H. and Antoinette (Tornich) Owen.

On January 18, 1947 June married Melvin 'Duck' John Drake; he preceded her in death on November 22, 2011.

She was a member of Saegertown United Methodist Church, Saegertown.

In 1970 June retired from the Slider Dept. of the former Talon, Inc. of Meadville after 20 years of service. She was a 1946 graduate of Saegertown High School. Her hobbies included gardening and traveling in their motor home especially to Myrtle Beach, SC and Disneyland. But what she loved most in life was being with her grandchildren.

June is survived by two children Larry J. Drake and his wife Lisa of Dawsonville, GA, Kimberly R. Green and her husband John W. of Saegertown, six grandchildren Lori McCollum and her husband Chris, Larry Drake, Jr. and his wife Angie, Terry Drake, Jacque House and her husband Chris, Jason Green and his wife Angela, Justin Green and his wife Alicia, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband Melvin of 64 years, June was preceded in death by a granddaughter Lisa Joy Drake, four sisters Thelma Kerkan, Lynn Haberland, Edna Knuth and Norma Geiger.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 5:00 PM at Saegertown United Methodist Church, 620 Euclid Ave., Saegertown, with Rev. Darrell L. Greenawalt officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saegertown Volunteer Fire Dept., PO Box 164, Saegertown United Methodist Church, 620 Euclid Ave., both in Saegertown, PA 16433 or Southern Care Hospice, 16039 Conneaut Lake Rd., Suite 108, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.
