Karl Fredrick Muckinhaupt, “Fritz” 79, of 930 Rosebay Way, Templeton, CA, formerly of Meadville PA., passed away at home, peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2018, with his family by his side following a 14 year journey with Parkinson's Disease.
Fritz was born in Meadville, on September 5, 1938, a son of the late Karl Franklin and Charlotte (Turner) Muckinhaupt.
On December 9, 1967 Fritz married Dorothy (Niemiec); she survives.
For many years Fritz was co-owner of Turners Mill, Inc., Cambridge Springs, along with his brother, Dick. Fritz was a 1956 graduate of Meadville High School, He was also a graduate of Penn State University. He was a veteran of the US Army. While living in the Meadville area, he was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Over the years he served as a member and past president of Cambridge Springs Exchange Club, past president of Iroquois Boating and Fishing Club of Conneaut Lake, chairman of the Board of Directors of Meadville Medical Center from 1996-1997, and was a former member of Meadville Masonic Lodge #408. He also served as past president of Baron Canyon Ranch Homeowners Association of San Luis Obispo, CA. His hobbies included hunting, skiing, traveling and he loved spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Dorothy, of 50 years, Fritz is survived by two children Jonathan Turner Muckinhaupt and his wife Amy of Saegertown, Elisabeth Anne Kahan of Templeton, CA, four grandchildren Ella and Emma Kahan of Templeton, CA, Lily and Lucas Muckinhaupt of Saegertown, a brother Kenneth Richard Muckinhaupt and his wife Vicky of Cambridge Springs and six nephews and nieces Scott, Chris, Michael, Debbie, Robin and Amy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
A Graveside Service, with Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006, will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 2 PM at Venango Cemetery with Rev Larry Peters, of First Presbyterian Church, Meadville, officiating. Following the committal, all are invited to attend a luncheon at Venango Valley Inn Restaurant, 21217 US Hwy. 19, Venango
