Kathleen "Kitty" Marie McCaffrey Perry

Kathleen "Kitty" Marie McCaffrey Perry, 86, of Erie, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024, at home with family. 

Kitty was born in Meadville on February 7, 1938, a daughter of the late Bernard "Barney" and Irene Agnes (Hogue) McCaffrey.

On October 12, 1973 Kitty married Karl Ernest Perry; he preceded her in death on March 15, 1996.

She had attended St. Brigid and St. Agatha Churches, Meadville. 

Kitty had attended the former St. Brigid Catholic School and graduated from the former St. Agatha Catholic School. She was employed by the former Talon, Inc., Penncrest School District and the Elks Club. She spent over 20 years working with her son's business Cowboy Kettle Korn and Lemonade and loved every minute of it. Throughout her life, she had a passion for helping others. She worked for Home Instead in Erie for several years and cared for countless others. Kitty became an avid runner in her mid 40's, and went on to complete three marathons, numerous half-marathons, 10k's and 5k's. She continued running through her mid 60's. Kitty also enjoyed cycling and traveling North Carolina and Florida to visit her children. Her children and grandchildren were the loves of her life. 

Kitty is survived by six children Joey Hassinger (Dany) of Meadville, Johnny Hassinger (Sue) of Venango, Janie Hassinger of Orlando, FL, Jeanne Elledge (Jeremy) of Lincolnton, NC, Jennifer Perry McGee  (Jason) of Erie, Kristopher Perry (Valerie) of Harrisburg, NC; ten grandchildren Nik, Jo-Jo, Brennan (Brittany), Haylee, Karlee, Alayna, Kyle, Angela, Maya, Zane; two wonderful great grandchildren Liam and Cora; sister Mary Ellen McCaffrey, Lorton, VA; cousin Mary Lynn Beatty (Jim); sister in law Leslie Lawrence (Bill); numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by siblings Bill McCaffrey (Donna), Jack McCaffrey (Nita), Sara Seidel (Dick), and Rose Anne Alexatos (Ed).

A private Celebration of Kitty's Life will be held.
