Kathryn 'Katy' M. Stewart

Kathryn 'Katy' M. Stewart, 72, of Meadville, passed away at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, Pittsburgh, surrounded by her family, on Monday, December 2, 2013, after a courageous 15 month battle with cancer.

She was born in Meadville on July 14, 1941, a daughter of the late Raymond H. and Rita T. (Ewing) Davidson.

She married James E. Stewart on July 22, 1961; he survives.

She retired in 2003 from PNC Bank after 44 years of service. She was a 1959 graduate of the former St. Agatha High School.

She was treasurer of the Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary and a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church.

Katys greatest passion and joy in life were her children and grandchildren, and she loved to attend her grandsons sporting events. She also enjoyed shopping and traveling and her favorite place to go was to the beach with her family.

She will be remembered by all who knew her for her beautiful smile, and for her kindness and generosity.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, Jim, of 52 years, include two daughters, Susan Troutner and her husband Gary, Cynthia Yoder and her husband Scott, all of Cochranton, three grandchildren Kyle Troutner of Erie, Austin Troutner of Cochranton, Garrett Yoder of Cochranton, two sisters Rosemary Thomas, Geraldine Kightlinger both of Meadville, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Mark Nicholson.

There will be no calling hours. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church at the convenience of the family.
