Keith A. Amolsch 'Keith Alan Austin'

The familiar voice of Keith A. Amolsch, AKA 'Keith Alan Austin', age 59, was silenced on Sunday, June 8, 2014, after a long career in radio. Keith found his niche in radio and loved his job.

Keith was born at the former Spencer Hospital in Meadville, on October 31, 1954, a son of Phyllis (Goetz) and the late Elvin C. Amolsch.

On October 5, 1985 Keith married Gail C. Fox; she survives.

Keith began his radio broadcasting career in Greenville in 1977, coming to Meadville in 1988. He gave his all, whether as branch manager, program director or radio personality, to Great Circle Broadcasting and Forever Broadcasting. He portrayed a great Santa on Saturday mornings during the Christmas Season. A 1972 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School, Keith went on to Sharon Broadcast School of Training. He served on the board of Big Brothers and Sisters and the American Cancer Society.

Keith was a fun loving, funny, often irreverent man which came through daily in his morning show. Keith knowingly played the 'straight man' for Gary Clark when they did 'The Morning Show' on WMGW. People listened because they had no idea what Keith would say next and it left them wanting and waiting for more. Keith loved all things radio and was a huge fan of 'Old Time Radio' comedy such as Jack Benny, Burns & Allen, and The Bickersons to name a few. He could quote them all!

He loved all things technology and would often say they evolved from Star Trek, such as the flip phones. Keith could diagnose and fix computers in his sleep! He also loved to read and was a fan of Dr. Who.

If Keith would have a chance to say farewell to all those who knew and loved him, it would be, 'Live Long and Prosper' my friends!

In addition to his wife Gail of 28 years, Keith is survived by his mother Phyllis Amolsch of Conneaut Lake, two sisters Susan P. Amolsch-Howsare of Conneaut Lake, Sharon A. Evanovich of North Versailles, a brother Mark W. Amolsch and his wife Carol of Meadville, five nieces Crystal, Samantha, Lisa, Nicole, Hannah, a nephew Colton and his beloved cats Frankie and Dean.

In addition to his father Elvin C. Amolsch, Keith was preceded in death by a half brother Billy Moore.

At Keiths request, services will be private.

Keith will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.

Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Crawford County, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, or Meadville Public Library, 848 N. Main Street, both in Meadville, PA 16335 or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 210 W. 6th St., Erie, PA 16507.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
