Lester J. Hamill, Jr.

Lester J. Hamill, Jr., 85, of Meadville, passed away on December 19, 2017.

Lester was born on December 13, 1932, son to the late Lester J. Hamill, Sr. and Florence (Dundon) Hamill.

On July 14, 1961 Lester and Gerry Ford were married.

He was a member of First Christian Church.

A veteran of the US Army, Lester entered active duty on May 24, 1954 and served his country honorably until his discharge on May 5, 1956. His hobbies and interests included time spent with family, physical labor, specifically carpentry and yard work, and travel. Lester was employed as an administrator for the Baltimore County Board of Education.

In addition to his wife, Gerry, of 56 years, Lester is survived by a daughter Leseen Hamill Aucker, a son John Lester Hamill, both of Meadville, five grandchildren Lawrence Patrick "LJ" Aucker and his wife Kathryn, Luke David Aucker, Lauren Sierra (Aucker) Razo and her husband Jordan, David Allen Nicholson, John Lester Hamill, Jr., two great grandchildren Amelia D'Nelle Aucker and Jordan Francis Razo, two brothers Earl Hamill and Bill Hamill, both of Meadville.

In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by a sister Grace Hamill.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 3-5 and also on Saturday from 10-11 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM with Roger Smith of First Christian Church, officiating.

Following Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006, Lester will be laid to rest in Edinboro Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 503 N. Main St., or the Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Rd., both in Meadville, PA 16335.
