Lois E. Maurana

Lois E. Maurana, 92, of 611 Euclid Ave., Saegertown, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at Meadville Medical Center. For the past year, she had been a resident of Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.
Lois was born in Arcadia, NE on April 15, 1918, a daughter of the late Frank and Hilda (Nordstrom) Evans.
On September 29, 1945 Lois married Carl J. Maurana; he preceded her in death on August 21, 1992.
She was a member of St. Bernadettes Roman Catholic Church, Saegertown, and its Altar Rosary Society.
In 1948 Lois moved to Saegertown where she raised her family and enjoyed being a homemaker. In her earlier years she was employed by Bethlehem Steel, NY City. Lois was a 1937 graduate of Linden High School in Linden, NJ. She was a charter member of Saegertown American Legion Post 205 and a member of Saegertown Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. Lois loved to play Bridge and was a member of her card club for more than 50 years.
Lois is survived by three children Carleen Wilkinson of Saegertown, Andrea Stearns of Meadville, Mark Maurana and his wife Anna of Saegertown, three grandchildren Jason Stearns of Saegertown, Justin Stearns, Jennifer Maurana both of Meadville, two great grandchildren Thaddeus Stearns of Erie, Priscilla Rash of Meadville, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband Carl of 46 years, Lois was preceded in death by two sons-in-law George Wilkinson, Robert 'Mike' Stearns, two brothers Gerald Evans, Donald Evans, two sisters Delilah Sutton and Dorothy Yokel.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 7-9 and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown, where a scripture service will be conducted at 8:30 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bernadettes Roman Catholic Church, Renner Ave., Saegertown, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 19, 2011, with Fr. Raymond Gramata, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will take place in Saegertown Cemetery.
