Loretta Rochelle Cunningham

Loretta Rochelle Cunningham, 67, of 20881 State Hwy. 198, Saegertown, formerly of 359 Walnut Street, Meadville, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.

Loretta was born in Buffalo, NY on December 9, 1948, a daughter of the late James and Katherine L. (Fredonia) Barkley and was raised in Meadville by the late Rev. Bud Ritchie and his wife Goldie.

On August 19, 1972, Loretta married Ronald Leon Cunningham; he preceded her in death on March 12, 2015.

She was an active member of St. John Missionary Full Gospel Baptist Church, Meadville, where she was ordained as a minister in 2006 and ordained as an Elder in 2015. Over the years she served as a Sunday School Teacher, was active with the Prison Ministry and ministered to the shut-ins at local nursing homes. She also spent a lot of her time traveling with the Full Gospel Group.

Loretta was a graduate of Meadville High School. While living in the Buffalo area Loretta had been employed by the Buffalo Telephone Co. and worked as a Licensed Beautician. After moving back to Meadville, she was employed by the former Spaulding Co. during the 1980's. Over recent years Loretta was active with the READ program teaching adults how to read. She will be missed by the many family and friends she leaves behind.

Loretta is survived by a son Ryan L. Cunningham of Hemet, CA, five grandchildren Terrill James Cunningham, Jordan Rochelle Cunningham, Renee Rochelle Cunningham, Madison Rochelle Cunningham, Camren Cunningham, a sister Sidney Williams of Buffalo, NY, a brother Calvin Bruce Barkley and his wife Jerilyn of Buffalo, NY, two aunts Grace L. Chance of Erie and Sandy Ritchie of Meadville, who was like a sister to her, an uncle Robert J. Ritchie and his wife Annie Ruth of Warren, OH, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents Loretta was preceded in death by a son, Terrill J. Cunningham and her sister, Ruthe "Dutchess" Overton.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at St. John Missionary Full Gospel Baptist Church, 792 N. Main St., Meadville, where a Home Going Service will be held at 1:00 PM with Bishop Stanley K. Smith, Pastor, officiating.

Loretta will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
