Louis 'Lou' Truman Severo

Louis 'Lou' Truman Severo, 55, of 85 1/2 Wadsworth Ave., Meadville, passed away suddenly Sunday, May 25th, 2014 at home.

Lou was born in Meadville on August 5, 1958, a son of Louis H. and Jeanne C. (Hotchkiss) Severo.

In his earlier years Lou had been married to Diane Stefanucci Walker and Gina Guerrini Ferraro.

A 1976 graduate of Meadville High School, Lou was a talented athlete. He was a member of the football team, baseball team as well as track and field team where he qualified for states in the javelin. Following his high school graduation he was employed by Combined Insurance Company before he began his career in automobile sales. Over the years Lou had been employed by Sonny Kings Orange Buick, Smith Gray Cadillac, John Rugalas where he was sales manager, A. Crivelli Auto and later established 322 Auto Sales. Lou was a member of National Auto Dealers Association (NADA) and of Pennsylvania Independent Auto Dealers Association (PIADA) as well as a former member of the ICC and the Hunting and Fishing Club. Lou was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed cooking, especially soups and had won the cook off sponsored by the Meadville Tribune. He loved to cook for family, friends and co-workers, especially at Rugalas. Lou will be sadly missed.

Lou is survived by two sons Johnny Severo, Jimmy Severo and his fianc Laura Burkholder, a granddaughter Hayley Severo, his mother Jeanne C. Albaugh and her husband Larry, his father Louis H. Severo and his wife Marsha, three brothers David W. Severo and his wife Pam and children Jessica, Daniel and Abby, John Anthony Severo and his companion Lorna Freund and children Alyssa Marie and John Jr., Daniel J. Severo and his wife Lisa and children Ryan and Victoria, a half sister Marjorie J. Severo Stewart and her husband Jeremy and children Peyton, Sophia and Ella, all of Meadville, several aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved dog, Ziggy.

Lou was preceded in death by a daughter Krystle Miller Severo, his maternal grandparents Truman V. and Valerie Hotchkiss, his paternal grandparents Louis A. and June Severo, paternal step grandmother Jean Severo, a sister-in-law Teri Fox Severo, an uncle Virgil Lee Hotchkiss and an aunt Doris Ann Hotchkiss Dennis.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 29, from 3-7 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 30, 2014, with Rev. Sarah Roncolato, Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church, officiating.

Lou will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.
