Louis Richard Klingensmith

Louis “Louie” R. Klingensmith, 95, of Homosassa, FL, passed away January 8, 2023, at Oak Hill Hospital in , FL.

Louie was born on May 22, 1927 in Export, PA to Mabel Howell. He married the love of his life Dolores June Moyer on October 2, 1948; she survives.

He attended Meadville Area High School and then was drafted in the Army in 1945 during World War II. He was stationed in Germany until 1947. Upon returning home he began working at the Malleable Iron Company before taking a position at Dad’s Pet Products Company in 1954. He became Vice President Controller and in 1990, after 36 years with Dad’s, he retired to enjoy playing golf, fishing and traveling with his wife. Louie was a lifetime member of the VFW and Vernon Central Fire Hall where he was Assistant Fire Chief and bar manager.

He is survived by his loving wife June of 74 years, his daughter Valarie and son in law Tim Leone of Meadville, grandsons Christopher Leone of Thornton CO, Patrick Leone and wife Bridget and great grand daughter Greer of Pittsburgh. He is also survived by half brothers and sisters Merle, Larry, Shirley and Marlene and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving daughter Lou Ann in 2005 and his mother Mabel Howell Klingensmith.

Visitation for Louie will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 1-3 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE. Family and friends are lovingly invited to attend.

Burial will be at Greendale Cemetery immediately following.
