Mabelle Gwenn Norris

Mabelle Gwenn Norris, 94, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Marquette Hospice House.

Mabelle was born in Kent, OH on July 15, 1927, a daughter of the late William and Helen Faye (Gooch) Arnold.

On October 15, 1947, Mabelle married William R. Norris; he preceded her in death on April 8, 2008.

She attended Pine Grove United Methodist Church.

Mabelle was a hard working, dedicated and loving homemaker who enjoyed raising her family. Along with her husband, William, and friends from her church, Mabelle ran a Christian summer camp on her farm for three years. A Bible scholar, she not only enjoyed reading the Bible but also taught Bible classes in her home as well as her church. She was a master quilter who made numerous quilts for family and friends. Mabelle also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, making crafts, raising rabbits and chickens. In her early years she enjoyed training horses. Time spent with family was her greatest joy. She will be sadly missed.

Mabelle is survived by a daughter Patricia L. Praisner and her husband Gary of Meadville, daughter-in-law Judy Norris, six grandchildren Laura, Keith, Troy, Brandon, Alan, Leslie; seven great grandchildren Joey, Megan, Hailey, Kristopher, Katelynn, Jada, Teigen; additional survivors include Rebecca, Melissa, Rachael, Christopher who were like grandchildren, along with Brooke, Troy, Zachary, Mark, James, Bella, Suzan, Phebe, Adam, and William who were like great grandchildren, a sister Shirley Zirkle and her husband Donald of Meadville, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband William of 60 years, Mabelle was preceded in death by a son Kenneth O. Norris, a brother William Arnold, three sisters Eileen Haun, Aletha Gilcrist and Maxine Linz.

At the family's request there will be no visitation.

A Memorial Service will be held on June 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
