Marcel K. Miller, 37, of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Meadville Medical Center.
Marcel was born in Meadville, on March 7, 1986, a son of Quintel L. and Arlene Lynn (Jordan) Miller.
On August 5, 2009 Marcel married Kimberly C. Kellerman; she survives.
He was raised in the Jehovah's Witness Faith.
Marcel was a 2004 graduate of Meadville High School where he was a member of the Wrestling Team. He was also a graduate of the Crawford County Vo-Tech Culinary Arts Program and of Le Cordon Bleu Institute of Culinary Arts in Pittsburgh. A US veteran, Marcel entered the US Army on March 9, 2006 and served his country honorably for 14 years, until his discharge on June 24, 2020. During his service time he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 2 Stars, Iraq Campaign Medal, and many others. Following his discharge, Marcel became employed by C & J Industry, working third shift. He loved to cook, fish and barbecue.
Marcel is survived by a daughter Peyton M. Miller of Conneaut Lake, whom he lovingly referred to as "Peymama", his parents Quintel and Arlene Miller; siblings Deatra Skeens (Ron), Monique Walker (Danny), Yolanda Gosnell (Russell III), Jonathan "Big Mike" Petty, Quintel Miller, Jr., all of Meadville; his maternal grandfather Clarence Jordan, Sr. of Warren; two nieces; six nephews; a host of extended family including Anthony Garrett, Arnold Johnson, Jr., Marlon McCoy, Arian Jordan, Dmitri Jordan, Isiah Jordan, Kyle Kellerman, and Mike Mattern who were all like brothers to him.
Marcel was preceded in death by maternal grandmother Beverly Hiland Jordan, paternal grandmother Vera Brown Briggs, and paternal grandfather Alfred Jenkins.
Family and friends are invited to call from 12-2 PM on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE. Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006 will follow.
Marcel will be laid to rest in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
