Marian "Mimi” L. Ross

Marian "Mimi” Ross, 89, of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Collins Hospice House, with her family by her side.

She was born in Meadville, on November 7, 1935, a daughter of the late Lawrence "Larry" and Elvera (Cumero) Kaloostian.

On September 7, 1957, she married Kenneth R. Ross; he preceded her in death May 11, 1995.

Mimi as she preferred to be called, enjoyed visiting casinos, playing cards, golfing, bowling, and attending her children's, grandchildren's and even her great grandchildren's sporting events when she was able. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking meals, especially spaghetti and meatballs and lasagna. She also enjoyed baking cookies for the holidays for family and friends. She was loved by all who knew her. She worked for, and retired from, Allegheny College in the Alumni Affairs Group, supporting mail campaigns, fund raising and recruiting. 

A devout Catholic, Mimi was a member of St. Mary of Grace Church and the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Italian Civic Club Auxiliary, VFW Post #2006 and Vernon Central Fire Hall.

Survivors include a daughter Kimberly Ross of Meadville, two sons Tracy Ross (Lisa) of Galveston, TX, Ken Ross (Beth) of Chadds Ford, PA; a sister Shirley Reitz; a brother Ronald Kaloostian, both of Ormond Beach, FL; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Kenneth, and her parents, Mimi was preceded in death by a brother Lawrence Leo Kaloostian.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2-5 PM on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST. MEADVILLE, where a Scripture Service will be held at 4:30 PM.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, with Fr. Kyle Seyler, Parochial Vicar, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mimi’s memory to The Collins House (Hospice), 338 Parker Ave., Franklin, PA 16323 of Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty St., Meadville, PA 16335.
