Marie Catherine (Bittner) Chiea

Marie Catherine (Bittner) Chiea, 91, of Meadville, formerly of Jeannette, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Grace Health Center of Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville. Marie had been in Assisted Living in Cribbs Residential Center at Wesbury since February of 2009.

She was born August 25, 1923, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late George and Mary Kivala.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Jeannette.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph "Joe", brothers Joseph and Walter Kivala, sisters Stella Michael, Cecelia Baloh and Bernadette Yurksitis.

She is survived by her sons, William E. Bittner, Jr. and his wife Nancy Mangilo-Bittner of Meadville, Richard D. Bittner and his wife Krystal of Kingston, OK, ten grandchildren Terri (David) George, Tracy Rowe (Doug Woodman), William E. Bittner, III, twins Kimberly (Howard) Bogac and Karin (Jack) Miller, Dana (John) Licastro, Richard D. (Shana) Bittner, Jr., Nicole (Don) Nadeja, Cathy (Brent) Kubicek, Melissa (Eddie) Wade, 16 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 11, 2014, from 4-6 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a scripture service will be held at 5:45 PM.

Family and friends are also invited to call on Friday, December 12, 2014, from 4-8 at John V. Graziano Funeral Home, 228 N. Second St., Jeannette.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 504 Cowan Ave., Jeannette.

Marie will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Jeannette.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cribbs Residential Center of Wesbury UMC, 31 N. Park Ave., or Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., both in Meadville, PA 16335.
