Marie J. Labruzzo

Marie J. LaBruzzo, 86, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Marquette Hospice House, with her family at her side.

Marie was born in Buffalo, NY on January 15, 1933, a daughter of the late Paul and Jennie (Villa) Canella.

On May 2, 1953 Marie married Norman "Cork" J. LaBruzzo, Sr.; he survives.

She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

Marie was a loving mother, raising five children. Through the years she shared that love with her family and friends. Marie's value of family traditions was her greatest reward. She was a special cook of many Italian recipes, which she prepared over many holidays and special events.

In addition to her husband Cork of 66 years, Marie is survived by four children Nancy Sacco (husband Joseph) of Cochranton, Joseph P. LaBruzzo (Lisa) of Meadville, Kimberly Tyree (husband David) of Pittsburgh, Christopher LaBruzzo (Jan) of Meadville, seven grandchildren Joey Marie Porcelli (John), Joseph Sacco III (Amber), Jamie Gaglione (Charles), Jennifer Pittner (Dan), Michael Tyree, Katie Tyree, Danielle LaBruzzo and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by a son Norman J. LaBruzzo, Jr., two brothers Joe, Andy, two sisters Frances and Nellie.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 4-7 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where a Scripture Service will be held at 6:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, with Fr. Jeff Lucas, Pastor, officiating.

Marie will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Township.

In gratitude for the compassionate and loving care that Marie received, in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, or Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty Street, both in Meadville, PA 16335.

The family would like to acknowledge Carl and Rosie Lynch, Patty Preus, John and Theresa Amato for their unwavering love and dedication to their friend, Marie.
