Marie Victoria Lippert Hamilton

Marie Victoria Lippert Hamilton, 87, of 21234 Serenity Dr., Meadville, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011, at home.
Marie was born in Cochranton, at home, on July 2, 1923, a daughter of the late John and Isabelle (Theuret) Lippert.
On October 23, 1945 Marie married Waid P. Hamilton; he preceded her in death on July 16, 2001.
She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, where she was baptized, she married her husband, raised her children and taught religious education to the young children. Marie was devoted to the Rosary. In her later years, she attended St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church.
For several years, Marie had served as the East Mead Township Tax Collector. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by the former Talon, Inc., of Meadville. She was a member of East Mead Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. Marie enjoyed gardening, playing BINGO and cards, especially 500 and Penny Ante. A remarkably gifted quilter, Marie made more than 200 quilts for herself, her family, her friends and for other families throughout the US. She had a natural music ability which allowed her to play the piano and guitar by ear. Marie will be remembered for her large, Sunday dinner gatherings of children and grandchildren, as time spent with family was what mattered most to her.
Marie is survived by seven children Yvonne Schmitt and her husband Robert 'Butch', C. Daniel Hamilton and his wife Cristy, Stephen Hamilton and his wife Charlotte, Mary Vogan and her husband James all of Meadville, Theresa Mailliard and her husband Daniel of Townville, Jeffrey Hamilton and his wife Loretta, Karen Groover and her husband Brian both of Meadville, 22 grandchildren Mark Schmitt, Julie Brooks, Anne Spross, Jason, Brett and Jared Hamilton, Carrie Abbott, Lacey McFadden, Stacey Chess, Amy Pianta, Daryl, John and Rebecca Vogan, Marie Lockwood, Nicole Neely, Abby Mailliard, Jennifer Armstrong, Logan 'Jake' Hamilton, Christian, Patrick, Seth and Tate Groover, 15 great grandchildren, a sister Viola Teudhope of Girard, two brothers Clarence Lippert of Cochranton, Roy Lippert and his wife Jean of Meadville, numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband Waid of 55 years, Marie was preceded in death by a grandson Adam Mailliard, a daughter-in-law Judy Hamilton, two brothers Dale 'Butch' Lippert, Earl 'Perk' Lippert and a sister Hazel Prenatt.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a scripture service will be conducted at 8:45 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 14th, 2011, with Fr. Raymond Gramata, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will take place in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Pettis.
