Mrs. Marion E. Baker, 90, of 20881 State Hwy. 198, Saegertown, formerly of Cree Street, Meadville, passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 at Meadville Medical Center.

Marion was born in Meadville, on June 5, 1926, the daughter of the late George H. and Mildred (Lupher) Hood.

On June 7, 1947 Marion married William F. Baker, Sr.; he preceded her in death on April. 21, 1985.

Marion graduated from Meadville High School and attended Stone United Methodist Church, Meadville. She was employed as a cashier at Valesky's Grocery Store for 12 years, retiring in 2000. She previously had been employed by the former Krogers for 10 years and had worked for the former Keystone View Ordnance during WW II. She enjoyed playing BINGO, playing the lottery and going out to eat.

She is survived by four children; William F. Baker, Jr. and his wife Barb "Annie" of Meadville, Kay Beers of Pittsburgh, Richard Charles Baker and his wife Noel of Conneaut Lake and David Baker and his wife Jill of Cochranton, seven grandchildren; Susan Radmore and her husband Mark, Justin Beers and his wife Rachel, Jared Beers, Stephanie Baker, Billy Baker, Matthew Baker and his wife Shelly, Samantha "Sammy" Baker, two great grandchildren Reghan Radmore, Kaleb Radmore and a dear, close friend, Zalene "Sis" Euler of Meadville, who was like family.

In addition to her parents and her husband, William, of 38 years, Marion was preceded in death by an infant son, an infant granddaughter Jada Marie Baker, two brothers Robert James Hood and Richard Charles Hood, two sisters Jean Hood and Catherine "Kay" Hood.

Private services will be held.

Marion will be laid to rest next to her husband, William, in Greendale Cemetery

Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
