Marjorie E. Vantassel

Marjorie E. VanTassel, 100, of 20881 State Hwy 198, Saegertown, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.

Marjorie was born in Greenville, on October 18, 1917, a daughter of the late Sydney Frank and Guyla Pearl (Gibbens) Green.

Marjorie married Leroy Franklin VanTassel; he preceded her in death on October 6, 2008.

She was of the Protestant Faith. In her earlier years Marjorie had been employed by the former Crawford County Home, J.C. Penny, and the former Smith's Dairy Isle. She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School in Lincolnville. Her hobbies included sewing, reading and gardening. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family.

Marjorie is survived by three daughters Carol Scotten of Sebastian, FL, Sandy Mahoney and her husband Terry of Meadville, Linda Nagengast and her husband Chuck of Ft. Benton, MT, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, eight half brothers and sisters, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband, Leroy, of 73 years, Marjorie was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

A Private Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Marjorie will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bloomfield Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

The family would like to thank the staff of Crawford County Care Center for the loving and compassionate care they provided.
