Mark F. Wright

Mark F. Wright, 75, of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at UPMC-Hamot, with his family at his side.

Mark was born in Meadville on July 27, 1949, a son of the late Ivan and E. Marion (Orr) Wright.

On October 23, 1981, Mark married Karen Maloney; she survives. 

He attended Grace United Methodist Church.

Over the years, Mark was employed by H & H, Talon, Rusco, DIC Tool, and in later years, enjoyed working at various local golf courses. A 1967 graduate of the former Randolph-East Mead High School, he was also a graduate of Gannon College, where he earned his teaching degree. He was a member and Trustee of Meadville Elks BPO #219. Mark was a sports enthusiast. He refereed high school basketball for over 51 years, including district and a state championship games. He loved following March Madness, and college and professional football, especially the Green Bay Packers. Mark possessed an outgoing and friendly personality. He could be relied upon to help others and enjoyed doing so. Mark will be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

In addition to his wife, Karen, Mark is survived by two sons Scott A. Wright (partner Mindy Bears) of Meadville, Brett J. Wright (partner Jiby Yohannan) of New York, NY; sister Linda Hasenkopf (Terry) of Pittsburgh; many nieces and nephews.

Mark was predeceased by siblings Mona Wright and Paul Wright.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2-5 PM on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where an Elks Service will be held at 4:30 PM and Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, October 7, 2024, with Pastor Joy Mumford officiating.

Mark will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery.
