Martha Louise Thelin

Martha Louise Thelin, 81, of 6726 Yankee Bush Rd, PO Box 63 Warren, left this earth to join her heavenly Father, guided by angels, on Thursday, October 13th, 2011, at Hazleton General Hospital, Hazleton.
Martha was born in Meadville on April 23, 1930, a daughter of the late William and Pearl (Allderice) Hilgendorf.
On May 14, 1960 Martha married David H. Thelin; he preceded her in death on September 7, 2003.
For many years Martha was employed as a bookkeeper for her husbands business, Good Turn Machine Company, Warren. Prior to her marriage she was employed as a medical secretary at Hamot Hospital, Erie. Martha graduated from Meadville High School in 1949. She was of the Protestant Faith and had a firm belief in the Lord, which brought her great comfort. During her 81 years here, Martha enjoyed the beauty of nature, watching birds, tending her flower gardens or admiring the sunset. She enjoyed having her Ham Radio License. Crocheting, knitting and reading occupied much of Marthas time; her favorite book being the Bible. Unless it was football season, the TV was not on-Martha loved football, especially the Buffalo Bills.
Martha is survived by her daughter Anne Potteiger of Wrightsville, granddaughter Rachel Potteiger, of Harrisburg, son Samuel D. Thelin, MD, of Guadalajara, Mexico, daughter Rebecca Burt of North Carolina, three other granddaughters Elora, Elyssa and Elana Lewis, one great granddaughter, two sisters Margaret Swartz of Meadville and Judy Beatty of Meadville.
In addition to her parents and her husband David of 43 years, Martha was preceded in death by an infant son Paul Samuel Thelin, two sisters her twin Mary Burnham and Carol Brown.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 PM at Saegertown Cemetery.
