Martin Perez

Martin Perez, 68, of 110 Canfield St., Cambridge Springs, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013, at Cambridge Springs Rehab & Nursing Center.

Martin was born in Meadville on February 19, 1945, a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Marcinko) Perez, Sr.

At a very young age, Martin served an apprenticeship with his father, at his barber shop, where he became a Master Barber. Following his 20 year Barber career, Martin became employed by PennDot from where he retired. He was a member of the Meadville Club. Martin loved to cook and was well known for his home made salsa. He also loved listening to music. He enjoyed fishing and in his earlier years he enjoyed hunting.


Martin is survived by a daughter Robin Venaas of Seneca, SC, a son Jay Eye of Greer, SC, three grandchildren, four sisters Maria Brink and her husband Ernest of Meadville, Elaine Wilson of Santa Monica, CA, Antoinette Carlson of Meadville, Pixie Vaccaro and her husband Al of Vero Beach, FL, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Martin was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Perez, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-5 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St. Meadville, where a Scripture Service will be conducted at 3:00 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2013, with Fr. Matthew Kujawinski officiating.

Interment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
