Mary Ann Bair

May 5, 1946 — August 9, 2024

Meadville, PA

Mary Ann Bair, 78, of Meadville, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024, at home.

Mary Ann was born in Warren, OH, on May 5, 1946, a daughter of the late Joseph Lewis and Emily Marie (Palmer) Patrick. She grew up in Vienna, OH.

On May 3, 2022, Mary Ann married Theodore William Bair; he survives.

Mary Ann enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. She loved sewing and enjoyed making blankets, tablecloths, and especially clothes for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed making artificial flower arrangements for herself and others. Mary Ann was a true people person who had a special ability not only for talking to people, but also connected with anyone she talked to. Even strangers could quickly become like family to her; once a stranger became family to Mary Ann, they remained like family to her. They would often be greeted with a hug or a kiss and they remained special to her. Mary Ann was known for never saying goodbye; instead she would leave with, "See you" and "Love you". All who came in contact with her, fell in love with her warm and caring personality. Mary Ann's greatest joy in life was her family and she loved them deeply. She will be sadly missed.

In addition to her husband, Theodore, Mary Ann is survived by five children Brenda Valingo (Tim Williams) of Burton, OH, Joseph Franklin (Jeanne Derring) of St. Augustine, FL, Lisa Bean (Roger) of Meadville, Robyn Maritch (Matthew) of Hubbard, OH, Dennis Franklin (Alicia) of Las Vegas, NV; thirteen grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren with another on the way; one great great grandchild; siblings Dorothy Husk (Timothy) of Lafayette, IN, Joseph Patrick II (Edith) of Warren, OH, James Patrick of Indianapolis, IN; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by siblings Ida Patrick and Betty Tursack.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and care givers at Helping Hands Hospice as well as those at Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, for the wonderful care they provided.

Memorial contributions may be made to Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
