Mary Ann Zinchiak, 93, of Hayfield Township, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community. She had lived 88 years of her life in the same house at Blacks Corners.
Mary Ann was born in Meadville, on December 29, 1928, a daughter of the late Matt and Anna (Bracika) Plementosh.
On October 9, 1948 Mary Ann married Andrew Zinchiak; he preceded her in death on December 15, 2011.
After many years of service, Mary Ann retired from the former FMC/Avtex Fibers. She continued staying active by making wood crafts with her husband. In her younger years she was in charge of the Payroll Department at the former Montgomery Ward. She was a 1946 graduate of Meadville High School and an active member of St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, Saegertown.
Mary Ann is survived by two children Linda Fink (Robert) of Saegertown, Ken Zinchiak (Denise) of Belvidere, NJ, four grandchildren Todd Wilson of Austin, TX, Tyler Wilson (Casey) of Meadville, Troy Wilson of Conneaut Lake, Kristopher Zinchiak (Stefanie) of Coral Springs, FL, six step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren Kayden and Matthew Wilson, Nicholas and Melanie Zinchiak, 16 step great grandchildren, two sisters Helen Archacki of Saegertown, Rose Smith of Cambridge Springs, two sisters in law Jeanne Plementosh of Meadville, Mary Jane Zinchiak of Erie, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband, Andrew, of 63 years, Mary Ann was preceded in death by a brother Michael Plementosh.
Family and friends are invited to call from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday at St. Bernadette Church, Renner Alley, Saegertown, with Fr. Mark Nowak, Pastor, officiating. Mary Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband, Andrew, in St. Agatha Cemetery.
