Mary Beth Maxeiner

Mary Beth Maxeiner, 66, of 10867 Graff St., Meadville, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Meadville Medical Center.

Mary Beth was born in Kittanning, on January 8, 1951, a daughter of the late Chester and Mary Catherine (Ortmann) Elwood.

On December 5, 1970 Mary Beth married Thomas A. Maxeiner; he survives.

She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

Following her 1968 graduation from Kittanning High School, Mary Beth became employed as a Nurses Aide at Armstrong Memorial Hospital. After her marriage to Tom, she moved to Meadville and was employed by K-Mart. Most recently she worked as a realtor with Coldwell Banker Bainbridge Kaufman Real Estate. Past president of Meadville Board of Realtors, Mary Beth was a member of West Mead Township Planning Commission as well as their Zoning Commission. She had been active with Meadville Rotary Club and with Crawford County Youth Hockey. Her hobbies included flower gardening, reading and photography but her favorite thing was being a grandma to Reagan and Emilia. She will be sadly missed.

In addition to her husband Thomas of 47 years, Mary Beth is survived by a daughter Lori E. Maxeiner of Meadville, a son Andrew T. Maxeiner and his wife Andrea (Fischer) of Cranberry Township, two grandchildren Reagan, Emilia, a sister Michele Grafton and her husband Adam of Shelocta, three brothers Bill Elwood and his wife Pat of Ford City, Jack Elwood and his wife Shirley of Kittanning, Bob Elwood of Cockeysville, MD, two brothers in law John Maxeiner and his wife Nancy of Erie, Bob Maxeiner of McGrann, a sister in law Sue Dracz and her husband Nick of Ford City, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary Beth was preceded in death by a sister Kimberly Elwood, a brother Chester Elwood and a sister in law Sis Elwood.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILL, where a Scripture Service will be held at 3:45 PM.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 19, 2017, with Fr. Tom Trocchio, Parochial Vicar officiating.
