Mary Edna Beck, 74, of 16377 Horseshoe Dr., Saegertown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19th, 2013 at Meadville Medical Center, following a lengthy illness.
Mary was born in Magherafelt, Ireland on September 7, 1938, a daughter of the late Matilda and Robert Caskey.
She was a member of Church of the Nazarene, Meadville.
After more than 20 years of service, Mary retired in 2003 from Meadville Medical Center where she had been employed in the Dietary Department. Following her retirement she worked part-time at Long John Silvers for a period of nine years, retiring again in December, 2012. Mary immigrated to America in 1955 with her brother, James Caskey. She was a friend to everyone. Mary loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary is survived by a daughter Cheryl Livingston and her husband Dennis of Hartstown, a son Walter Beck and his wife Melinda of Cambridge Springs, six grandchildren, two of whom she helped raise Mandi Marie Hubert and her husband Jeremy, Sr. of Saegertown, Sean Louis Carpenter and his fianc Michele Chase of Saegertown, three step grandchildren, great grandchildren Matthew Luzier, Kevin Luzier, Jeremy Hubert, Jr. all of Saegertown, Ryan Parsons of Meadville, two sisters Whinne Mastrouito of Kirkland, WA, Eileen Murray and her husband Ian of Antrim, Ireland, a sister-in-law Louise Caskey of Meadville, several nieces and nephews and her dog, Bobo.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Marie Beck-Carpenter in 2001, a son Donald Ray Beck in 1977, two brothers Jim Caskey, Robert Caskey, three sisters Annie Purvis, Bella Brown and Sheila Pitts.
Services will be private at held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will take place in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp., with Rev. Rodney A. Johnson, Pastor of Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
