Mary F. Smith

Mary F. Smith, 87, of 2216 Bradford House, Meadville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at home.
Mary was born at the family farm on Lewandowski Road in Saegertown, December 8, 1922, a daughter of the late Mary (Ambrose) and Joseph Lewandowski. She resided in Saegertown most of her life.
On May 30, 1942, Mary married Theodore 'Ted' Smith; he preceded her in death on January 28, 1994.
She was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.
In 1975 Mary retired from the former GTI of Saegertown after 17 years of service. She attended the former Gilmore School. In her earlier years Mary enjoyed dancing and polka music. A dedicated wife, mother and homemaker, Mary enjoyed gardening. She was proud of growing the vegetables she prepared for family meals and always demonstrated a strong work ethic. Her greatest pleasures were being in the company of 'her girls' and their families.
Mary is survived by seven daughters Patricia Schlosser of Fairview, Jane Pickens and her husband Steve of Meadville, Mary Ellen ReBrassier and her husband Patrick of Meadville, Chris Frisina and her husband William of Cambridge Springs, Theresa Osborne of Meadville, Cindy Hall and her husband Donald of Saegertown, Janet Free and her husband Randy of Saegertown, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law Martha Lewandowski of Saegertown, Barbara Lewandowski of Meadville, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband Theodore 'Ted' of 51 years, Mary was preceded in death by two sons-in-law David Schlosser, Mark Osborne, two sisters Estella Pituch, Sophie Myk, four brothers Frank, Chester, Henry and George Lewandowski.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 3-7 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335 where a scripture service will be conducted at 6:30 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, with Rev. Jerry Mesley, officiating.
Interment will take place in St. Agatha Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
