Mary "Meg" Katherine Dennehy

Mary  Katherine Dennehy, "Meg" 66, of Cochranton, PA, passed away unexpectedly due to a brain aneurysm Monday, June 18, 2018, at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center, Erie.

A woman of great compassion, warm heart, and dancing feet, Meg was born in Dublin, her beloved Ireland, on July 24, 1951, daughter of Joan Dennehy (Stafford King-Harman) and the late George Dennehy.
Meg was raised in and near London England and attended Woldingham Convent of the Sacred Heart School, followed by Cordon Bleu Cookery School.  She started her family near Cardigan Wales and moved to the United States in 1982 and apprenticed as a home-birth midwife.  She continued to grow her family in the Grove City area and was a parent-teacher in the Sunflower School and active in peace-and-justice causes. She moved to Cochranton in 1988, worked with Hospice, and has been a body-work practitioner and certified yoga instructor in the area, including at Cambridge Springs State Correctional Institution and Active Aging in Meadville. She had a passion for working with others to find deeper meaning and greater connection. Meg was enriched by her work with the Full Spectrum Center and their choir. She sang and played guitar and drums with many bands and loved to gather family and friends at her home for music and dancing. Meg was conscientious about how her actions impacted others and our natural surroundings. She relished being in nature, especially in her kayak or the ocean. She loved gardening, painting with dear friends, and found renewal in meditation. Meg's love of family, music, yoga, and nature led her heart to travel to beautiful places such as Algeria, Sri Lanka, India, Peru, Tibet, Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, Turkey, Czech Republic, South Africa, Panama, and of course to return to Ireland and Great Britain.

Meg was a beloved mother, caring, brave, supportive, and adventurous. She stood up for what she believed in, especially for her children. Guiding with love, she was beautiful, compassionate, wise. She cherished and delighted in her grandchildren. She encouraged all to be their own true and authentic selves. Meg will live in our hearts, reminding us to love.

Meg is survived by three children Lauryn Starkie Kreuder and her husband Matthew of Bennington, VT; Cayli Jenkins of Grove City, PA; Orion Jenkins and his wife Brugnelly, of Grove City PA; four grandchildren Willow Starkie Kreuder, Reverie Starkie Kreuder, Solié Jenkins, Lienzo Jenkins; her mother Lady Joan Dunn, of Shrewsbury, England; three sisters Rosemary Tindal and her husband Charles of Donegal, Ireland; Sarah Dennehy of Devon, England; Caro Schiansky and her husband Howie of Shrewsbury, England; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father George Dennehy, Meg was preceded in death by a son Kestren Jenkins.
