Mary Rita Lauderman

Mary Rita Lauderman, 80, of 490 Arch St., Meadville, passed away Thursday, December 3rd, 2009 at Meadville Medical Center.
Mary was born in Meadville on May 13, 1929, a daughter of the late Alton R. and Mary T. (Robinson) Hills.
On May 30, 1947 Mary married F. Wayne Lauderman; he survives.
She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society.
After 26 years of service, Mary retired in 1993 from Crawford Central School District where she was employed as the Head Cook. A 1946 graduate of Meadville High School, Mary had attended St. Brigid grade school. She was a member of the Democratic Women, a former member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas and in her earlier years, was involved with the Camp Fire Girls for which she received the St. Anne Award for her leadership. Although a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Mary will be remembered as a diehard Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Blessed with a green thumb, Mary enjoyed tending to her flower garden. Mary had an interest in collecting Santa Clauses, which over the years, grew in number to over 200. Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchild, who she was very proud of and brought her great joy.
In addition to her husband Wayne of 62 years, Mary is survived by four children Mary Tavcar and her husband Frank of Austin, TX, Linda Miller and her husband Robert 'Square' of Meadville, Joyce Gahan and her close friend George Barcellona of Erie, David Lauderman and his wife Joie of Round Rock, TX, nine grandchildren Amy Wetmore and her husband Chad, Jennifer Gemperle and her husband Steve, Robert J. Miller, Jr. and his fianc Laura Pears, Sean Miller, Kristina Gahan and her fianc Jeff Lantz, Kristin France and her husband Ryan, Casey Miller, Rachel Brandl and her husband Jim, David Gahan, three great grandchildren Aidan Wetmore, Alexis Gemperle and Evan Gemperle.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335 where a scripture service will be conducted at 2:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, Meadville, at 10:45 AM on Tuesday, December 8th, 2009 with Fr. Mark OHern, Pastor of St. Brigid, officiating.
Interment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, Meadville.
