Michael D. Dean

Michael D. Dean, 50, of 21615 Springs Rd. Ext., Meadville, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at home.

Michael was born in Warrenton, VA on February 3, 1967, a son of Edmund D. and Nancy (Gehrt) Dean.

On January 12, 2017 Michael married Lisa A. Miller; she survives.

Michael had been employed by Northwest PA Weatherization and had worked for Bob Mosier for many years. A graduate of Meadville High School, he attended Pittsburgh Art Institute. Michael loved drawing, singing, playing the guitar, both electric and acoustic. He enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing and was always building something. Time spent with family and friends was important to him. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his wife, Lisa, Michael is survived by three children Joseph Dean of Albany, NY, Courtney Meredith and her wife Valerie of Coraopolas, Parker Dean at home, his mother Nancy Cornell, his father Edmund Dean both of Meadville, three grandchildren Cooper and Carter Dean, Kimberly Delp, two brothers Scott Dean of Mt. Pocono, Edmund J. Dean and his wife Laverne of Cochranton, two uncles Bill Gehrt and his wife Darlene of North Carolina, Bob Gehrt and his wife Gloria of Nebraska, his mother in law Linda Miller, his father in law Wally Miller both of Meadville, two sisters in law Jackie Beers and her husband Bill of Cochranton, Christie Shamp and her husband Travis of Akron, OH, four cousins Tammy Fetzner, Billy Gehrt, Anthony Gehrt and Gerry Gehrt.

Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Lee Gehrt and Shirley Wilson, his paternal grandparents Delos and Stella Dean, and his step father Merle Cornell.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4-7 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St. Meadville, where Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM with Rev. Marshall Lillie, Chaplain of Hospice of Crawford County, officiating.

Michael will be laid to rest in Kiser Hill Cemetery, East Mead Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville, PA 16335.
