Michael F. Chmura

Michael F. Chmura, 65, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

Michael was born in Meadville on July 9, 1948 the son of the late John and Kathryn (McGinty) Chmura.

Michael had previously been employed by Talon, Inc. of Meadville and Abex Corporation, of Saegertown. In his later years Michael had been employed by Quailty Markets, of Meadville. He was a 1966 graduate of Meadville High School.

He was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

Michael is survived by a son Brion Chmura and his wife Beth, a daughter Kimberly Chmura both of Pittsburgh, three grandchildren Alex and Aliesa Chmura, and Emma Courtemanche, two sisters Diane Johnson and her husband Lance of Meadville, Kathleen Chmura of Virginia Beach, VA and a niece Melissa Chamberlain of Virginia Beach, VA, and two great nieces Lani Storm and Lila.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lauren Elisabeth Chmura and a nephew Ted Johnson.

Michael was an avid collector of model airplanes and trains, and an astronomy enthusiast. He enjoyed reading, fishing and the outdoors. He also enjoyed visiting with neighbors, family, friends and his grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, October 14, 2013 from 3-7 PM at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 404 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at 10:00 AM at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch Street, Meadville, with Fr. Johnathan Schmolt, Pastor, officiating.

Internment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Township, at a later date.
