Mildred B. Ervin, 99, of 630, Griffin Ave., Lady Lake, FL, formerly of Meadville, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 at Lady Lake Specialty Care, Lady Lake, FL.
Mildred was born in Arbovale, WV on October 5, 1916, a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Lillie F. (Hollen) Phillips.
On October 23, 1936 Mildred married Ted W. Ervin; he preceded her in death on July 8, 1982.
While living in Meadville Mildred was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and while in Teepleville she was a member of Teepleville United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the Ladies Aide Society.
In 1979 Mildred retired from Meadville Medical Center where she had been employed for 16 years at the former City Hospital Lab and Central Service. From 1942-1967 she worked with her husband on their dairy farm in Teepleville. She was a 1934 graduate of Greenbank High School, Greenbank, WV. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting and, in her earlier years, working in her flower garden.
Mildred is survived by four children Beverly Arthur and her husband Bob of Vero Beach, FL, Dr. Joseph L. Ervin and his wife Carol of Harrisonburg, VA, James K. Ervin and his wife Marilyn of The Villages, FL, Cheryl Palmiero and her husband Ken of Tampa, FL, seven grandchildren Michael Fry, Joseph Ervin, Jr., David Ervin, Susan Ervin Woodard, Jim R. Ervin, Jeffrey Palmiero, Jennifer Palmiero Puleo, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband Ted of 45 years, Mildred was preceded in death by four sisters Roxie Mae Arbogast, Ruby Wooddell, Beatrice Smith, Bertha Spencer, two brothers Roland Phillips and Lynn Phillips.
Family and friends are invited to call from 2-4 and 6-8 on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 31, 2015.
Mildred will be laid to rest next to her husband, Ted, in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Twp.
