Naomi (Joyce) McCracken, 97, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Naomi was born in Pittsburgh, on August 7, 1924, a daughter of the late Patrick and Lydia (Green) Joyce.

On January 23, 1946, Naomi married John "Jack" McCracken; who preceded her in death on October 21, 1976.

While residing in Orlando, FL, she was the executive secretary for the Orange County District Attorney; the top secret Naval Underwater Sound Laboratory; and the McCoy Air Force base. Prior to getting married to Jack, she worked for a General at the Pentagon. During the 1950's she worked at Talon. During the Vietnam era, she was the executive secretary of the Selective Service local Draft Board, while all four of her sons were Marines who served in Vietnam.

Naomi was a 1942 graduate of St. John the Baptist High School in Pittsburgh. After Jack passed away, she worked for, and in 1989 retired from, the Social Security Administration as a Service Representative. She was also a member of Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary and was a volunteer at the Medical Center for many years in addition to volunteering with the Red Cross. Naomi headed the Theos Group of widows and widowers of Crawford and Mercer Counties, making friends for life with grieving survivors. Naomi loved her family, oil painting, reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and mother in law.

Naomi is survived by three sons Timothy Paul (Katie) McCracken of Conneaut Lake, Terrence Lee (Jane) McCracken of Cape Coral, FL, Tracey John McCracken of Cape Coral, FL; a sister Patricia LaBarbra of Allison Park; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; and loving nieces, nephews and friends, with a special farewell to Shirley Watts and Judy Beatty, both of Meadville.

In addition to her parents and her loving husband, Jack, Naomi was preceded in death by a son Thomas Robert McCracken, a grandson John Robert "Jack" McCracken II, two brothers Paul and Raymond Joyce; three sisters Edith Pasikoski, June Lake, Ruthie Choffel; her niece Joan Rodgers; and a daughter in law Joanna McCracken.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 3-5 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., where Funeral Services will follow at 5 PM, with Rev. Dr. Tim Solomon officiating.

Naomi will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jack, in Huber Cemetery, Union Twp.
