Nick T. Cappellino, 84, of 12554 Graff Ave. Ext., Meadville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012, at Forbes Hospice, Pittsburgh, just one day before his 85th birthday.
Nick was born in Meadville on May 30, 1927, a son of the late Peter and Dorothea (Accardi) Cappellino.
On July 31, 1954 Nick married Rose Badagliacca; she survives.
He was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church where he had served as an usher and was a member of the former Holy Name Society.
After 32 years of service, Nick retired in 1991 from Seco-Warwick where he had been employed as a fabricator. A US Army veteran, Nick was honorably discharged on November 24, 1950. He attended Meadville High School and was a member of the Italian Civic Club (ICC). His favorite hobby was golfing, but his greatest love in life was being with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was idolized by his family and will be remembered as a most loving husband, dad and papa.
In addition to his wife Rose of 57 years, Nick is survived by four children Gina M. McMurrary and her husband Richard, Lynn F. Trenney and her husband Donald R., Debora A. Ulven and her husband Mark all of Pittsburgh, Joseph N. Cappellino and his girlfriend Lisha Cole of RIchmond, VA, ten grandchildren Lindsay, Emily ant Matt McMurray, Chad and Jaimie Trenney, Lexie, Allison and Nicholas Ulven, Connor and Christian Cappellino, two sisters Uda Varricchio of Wickliffe, OH, Theresa Sekel and her husband Dave of Meadville, a brother Sam Cappellino of Warren, OH, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters Rose Bergamasco, Benvenuda Cappellino, Anna Cappellino, Anna Cappellino, James Cappellino, Richard 'Dick' Cappellino, Peter Cappellino, Andrew Cappellino, Samuel Cappellino, and a nephew Art Bergamasco.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 3-8 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a scripture service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, PA, at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 1st, 2012, with Fr. Marc Solomon, Pastor, officiating.
Entombment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
