Nina Marie Pendolino

Nina Marie Pendolino, 79, of 707 North St., Meadville, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at home surrounded by her family.

Nina was born at the former Spencer Hospital in Meadville, on July 21, 1936, a daughter of the late Joseph and Nora (Valella) Consiglio.

On October 24, 1959 Nina married Salvadore "Sam" Vincent Pendolino; he survives.

She was a life long member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Rosary Society where she held each office multiple times. She served God in many ways including as a Church Lector, as a CCD teacher, as co-founder of St. Joseph's Day Table, as a member of Care and Concern, as chairperson for the monthly Community Dinners and by working funeral dinners. Nina was pleased to have become a member of the Secular Franciscan Order.

In her younger years Nina was employed at various offices in the Meadville area. She was a 1954 graduate of Meadville High School. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Nina loved being a homemaker. Her life was dedicated to her family and church. She loved to be in the kitchen cooking and baking and she excelled at both. She also enjoyed reading, traveling and organizing various bus trips as well as pilgrimages within the US and Canada.

In addition to her husband, Sam, of 55 years, Nina is survived by three children Michael Pendolino and his wife Bridget, Patti Kidd, Sam Pendolino and his wife Christi all of Meadville, five grandchildren Angeline Pendolino, Matthew Pendolino, Josh Kidd, Francesca Pendolino, Nicholas Pendolino, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 8, from 4-8 PM at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a prayer service by the Secular Franciscan Order will be held at 7:00 PM and a scripture service will be held at 7:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, with Fr. Matthew Kujawinski, Pastor of St. Mary, officiating.

Nina will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., or Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., both in Meadville, PA 16335.
