Opal L. Furno

Opal L. Furno, 86, of 14714 Park Ave. Ext., Meadville, formerly of 16222 N. Shady Acres, Meadville, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Meadville Rehab & Nursing Center.

Opal was born in Edinboro, on December 17, 1927, a daughter of the late Perry and Jesse (Bierworth) Rubner.

On April 3, 1947, Opal married Dominick Furno; he preceded her in death on September 13, 2013.

After more than 35 years of service, Opal retired from Plant #7 of the former Talon Inc. of Meadville. She attended Meadville schools and loved to line dance.

Opal is survived by three children Becky Cousins of Erie, Sharon Manning of Alabama, Charlene Hannold and her husband Terry of Meadville, six grandchildren, Patti Hart, Scott Manning, Tonya Gido, Marc Gregor, Kristoffer Gregor and his wife Elizabeth, Sean Cousins, 13 great grandchildren Alex Gregor, Tori Gido, Andrew Gregor, Chelsea Gregor, Kassidy Gido, Randy Bucklew, Tucker Gregor, Jackson Gregor, Masyn Gregor, Savana Gregor, Dylan Cousins, twins Colin and Liam Cousins, one great great grandson Ace Benjamin Rankin, two sisters Marie Wellman of Union City, Evelyn Rubner of Meadville, a brother Perry Rubner and his wife Helen of Conneaut Lake, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, and her husband, Dominick of 66 years, Opal was preceded in death by a grandson Geoffery Gregor, four sisters Edna Enssle, Mildred Burger, Eleanor Trimm, Doris Derby and a brother Glen Rubner.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, February 2, 2014, from 2-5 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM with Pastor Temple Jarrell of New Beginnings Church of God, officiating.

Opal will be laid to rest next to her husband, Dominick, in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
