Patricia Joyce Mizner

Mrs. Patricia Joyce Mizner, 93, of Meadville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 surrounded by the love and support of her entire family. She was reunited with her beloved husband, Jim, on the date of their 70th wedding anniversary.


Joyce was born in Latrobe, on December 21, 1930, the daughter of the late Andrew and Flora (Hackman) Condi.


On January 23, 1954 Joyce married James J. Mizner, Sr.; he preceded her in death on November 9, 1997.


She was an active member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church and The Altar Rosary Society where she served on various committees over the years . She also served on the Care and Concern Committee and was a former CCD teacher.


Joyce graduated from Latrobe High School in 1948 and the former Spencer Hospital School of Nursing in 1952 as a registered nurse. Over the years she had been employed as a Registered Nurse at the former Spencer Hospital, Wesbury United Methodist Community and Hillside Home. She was a member of Hillside Home Auxiliary and Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary where she volunteered in the gift shop.


Joyce is survived by six children, James J. Mizner, Jr. (Mary) of Reston, VA, Kathleen E. Vardaro (Judge Anthony Vardaro) of Pittsburgh, Stephen P. Mizner (Jocelyn) of Conneaut Lake, John F. Mizner (Melissa) of Erie, Patricia A. Fiely (Mark) of Meadville, Colleen B. Major (David) of Erie; 22 grandchildren; Andrew Shedlock, Patricia Clevenger (David), Joseph Bennett (Livia), Jennifer White (Danny), E. Richard Kline (Julie), Dr. Elizabeth Kline PhD, James Kline, Concetta Fort (Erik), Dr. Aleta Mizner DO, Elspeth Grace Mizner, James Simon Peter Mizner, John Francis Xavier Mizner, Benedict John Paul Mizner, Hope Cicero (Scott), Luke Fiely, Isaac Fiely, Samuel Fiely, Benjamin Fiely, Carly Mizner, Hanna Major, Abby Major, Leah Major; five great grandchildren Julius and August Bennett, Charlotte Fort, Desmond and Sebastian White; son in law Dr. Ernest Kline of Upper St. Clair; several nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents and her husband, James, of 43 years, Joyce was preceded in death by a daughter Eileen Marie Kline; a granddaughter Eva Marie Bennett, two brothers, Albert and Paul, three sisters Ann, Edith and Theresa.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 1-5 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, with praying of the Rosary at 5 PM.


A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday, January 29, 2024, at The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Brigid Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, with Fr. James Campbell officiating.


Joyce will be laid to rest next to her husband, James, in St. Brigid Cemetery.


Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
