Patrick D. Groves

Patrick D. Groves, 80, of 602 Limber Rd., Meadville, passed away Tuesday, April 27th, 2010 at Rolling Fields Nursing Home, Conneautville.
Patrick was born in Meadville on February 22, 1930, a son of the late William and Winifred (Brophy) Groves, Sr.
On July 1, 1950 Patrick married Nyla Schlosser; she survives.
He was a member of Saegertown United Methodist Church and the church choir.
Over the years Patrick had been employed by Associated Clinical Laboratories, Hathaway Bakery, Meadow Brook Dairy and Erie Canteen. He was a lifetime member of Hayfield Grange #800, Meadville Elks and Meadville Sertoma Club. He was a member of Yesterdays Sounds Barbershoppers.
In addition to his wife Nyla of 59 years, Patrick is survived by three daughters Karen Billingsley and her husband Ron of Pittsburgh, Judy Acker and her husband Ralph of Meadville, Pamela Christ and her husband George of Rogers, MN, six grandchildren Sarah and Adam Billingsley, Aaron and Kaylan Troy, Zachary and Wesley Christ, two great grandchildren Cash Morrell, Eva Billingsley, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by two brothers William Groves, Jr., Gerald Groves, five sisters Elizabeth Darling, Joan McCanna, Jean Laskaris, Sara Hall and Eleanor Roiz.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335.
Funeral Services will be held at Saegertown United Methodist Church, 620 Euclid Ave., Saegertown, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 1st, 2010 with Rev. Kenneth Custer, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will take place in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead.
