Paul James Pastrano, a kind-hearted soul with a special and giving spirit, passed away on March 4, 2025, at UPMC Hamot, following injuries sustained in an accident. Born on November 21, 1985, in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of Scott R. and Cheryl A. (Crawford) Nelson.
Paul had a vibrant personality that connected him one-on-one with many people, making friends as he walked the streets of the Meadville area. His love for Jesus was evident in his child-like faith, which guided his life. Paul devoted significant time to reading the Bible and praying, finding solace and strength in his faith. He enjoyed time spent on his computer, playing video games on his Play Station and made it a point to visit the library weekly, fulfilling his joy of reading. Paul was known for his quick wit and romantic nature, often expressed through his poetry.
Paul is survived by his parents, Scott and Cheryl (Crawford) Nelson, of Titusville; his sister, Rachel E. Frain, of Butler; two brothers, Anthony Pastrano (Regina) and their children Kimberly, Oliver, Hannah, and Emilia, all of Cochranton, and Damien Pastrano of Mentor, OH. He leaves behind the memory of his sister, Christina Pastrano, who predeceased him.
Paul's remarkable spirit and compassion will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
No public services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Paul's memory to the Meadville Public Library, 848 N. Main St., Meadville.
