Mr. Paul S. Gray, 90, of 1415 Erie St., Saegertown passed away Friday, March 13, 2015, at Meadville Medical Center.
Mr. Gray was born in Kittanning on November 11, 1924, the son of the late Ralph and Catherine Ann (Rebold) Gray.
In a ceremony conducted by his future father-in-law, on July 18, 1952, Paul married Mary Alice McGarvey; she survives.
He was a member of Pleasantview Alliance Church, Saegertown.
In the mid 1960's Paul retired from Colt Industry of Midland. He previously had been employed in the steel mills of Midland. He attended Adrean School. A WW II US Army Air Corp veteran, Paul served with the 56th Fight Control Squadron in New Guinea, Luzone from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1946. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, The Philippine Liberation Medal, Victory Ribbons and the South Pacific Ribbon. In 1994 he and his wife moved from Beaver to Saegertown. While living in Beaver County, Paul served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He was a member of the Saegertown American Legion Post #205, the Saegertown Volunteer Fire Dept., and the Midland Sportsman's Club. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He loved his family deeply and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Mary of 62 years, Paul is survived by a daughter Janelle Mondi and her husband John of Saegertown, seven grandchildren Tyler, Matthew, Carter, Camryn, Sadie, Karlyn, Maddie, two great grandsons Kaidyn, Kamden, nieces and nephews.
In addition to is parents, Paul was preceded in death by a two sisters Julia Boyd, Marguerite Alice Cromer, three brothers John, Robert and Cecil Gray.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, March 16, 2015, from 7-9 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, with Lead Pastor, Keith Draa, of Pleasantview Alliance Church officiating.
Following Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006, Paul will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
