Paul S. Reese

Paul S. Reese, 103, of 455 Chestnut St., Meadville, formerly of Conneaut Lake and Guys Mills areas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Juniper Village.

Paul was born at home in Wayne Township., on September 19, 1914, a son of the late Ora B. and Pearl (Smith) Reese.

Paul married Ottah Hall on April 10, 1937; she preceded him in death on March 2, 1966. Subsequently he married Mary Hargett on May 18, 1968; she predeceased him on September 2, 2013.

In May, 1979, Paul retired from the Test Lab of the former Talon Inc. with 43 years of service. He had previously been employed by the former Keystone Ordnance Works. Paul enjoyed monthly dinners at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church and breakfasts at the Market House Grill. He attended Townville Senior Citizens Center. An avid outdoors man, his hobbies included hunting, fishing and boating. Following his retirement he spent many hours working on the farm where he was born. Well after attaining the age of 100, Paul remained extremely active. He lived a remarkable life.

Paul is survived by two sons Dick Reese (Carole) of Meadville, Jon Reese (Peg) of Guys Mills, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He is further survived by three special friends who gave him attention Shirley Reese Cornell, Norma Hall Keifer, and Tina Hair Hinshaw.

In addition to his wives and parents, Paul was preceded in death by two sisters Elizabeth Lang, Leda Porter and a brother Dale Reese.

Family and friends are invited to call Sunday from 2-4 PM and Monday from 9-10 AM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, with Pastor Alice McClymonds officiating.

Paul will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Staff Appreciation Fund of Juniper Village, 455 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335 or Lakeland Area Hospice, 2221 Peninsula Dr., Erie, PA 16506.

The family would like to thank the staff of Juniper Village and Lakeland Hospice for the great care they provided to Paul.
