Paulette "Pauli" Elizabeth Thompson, 53, of 19627 Chad Lane, Meadville, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Meadville Medical Center.

Pauli was born in Hastings on July 1, 1963, a daughter of Joseph and Joan (Fransco) Mangarella.

On September 4, 1987 Pauli married Stuart D. F. Thompson; he survives.

She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church. Pauli had also been very active in Christ Church Episcopal, having served as Church Treasurer and as a member of the Vestry.

For nearly 20 years Pauli was employed as a Quality Control Technician by Lord Corporation, Saegertown. A 1985 graduate of Allegheny College, Pauli double majored and earned her B.S. Degree in both Economics and Environmental Science. She was a graduate of Bishop Carroll High School in Ebensburg and in her earlier years, attended Hastings Middle School. Pauli was a member of the Women's Literary Group and of the Women's Rotary Literary Group. In addition to reading, Pauli enjoyed knitting and doing needle point work for charity. She was an animal lover and was especially fond of her two dogs which were being trained as therapy dogs. A great cook, Pauli liked to experiment in the kitchen. Her other interests included fishing, camping, traveling and attending the casinos to play black jack. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her husband, Stuart of 28 years, Pauli is survived by a daughter US Army Specialist Gwendolyn Thompson of Huachuca, AZ, a son Shane Joseph Thompson of Meadville, her parents Joseph and Joan Mangarella of Hastings, two brothers Joseph Mangarella and his wife Rose of Harrisburg, Matthew Mangarella of State College, her in-laws, Glenn and Margie Thompson, her sister in law, Patti Shook and her husband, Mike Shook, her brother in law, Glenn Thompson and his wife, Sue Thompson, her sister in law Lisa Chandler and her husband, Andrew Chandlersix nieces and nephews Andrea Chandler, Christopher Shook, Clinton Thompson, Shannon Tatman, Lila Thompson, James Chandler, her cat Oreo, her dogs Bruce and George.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Kitty Mangarella and her favorite dog Lucky.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, August 1, 2016 from 4-7 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch Street, Meadville, at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, with Fr. Johnathan Schmolt, Pastor, officiating.

Pauli will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Cemetery, Hastings.
