Peter "Pete" Spinnato

Peter Spinnato, 95, passed away Monday, February 24, 2020, at Meadville Medical Center.

Pete was born in Meadville, on July 17, 1924, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Limano) Spinnato.

He was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church.

After 42 years of service, Pete retired from the Processing Department of the former Avtex Fibers. He had also worked part time as a bar tender at the Italian Civic Club. A veteran of WW II, Pete entered the US Army on May 12, 1943 and was honorably discharged on February 17, 1946, having been stationed in the South Pacific for 18 months. He attended the former St. Brigid School and Meadville High School. He was a lifetime member of the ICC Club, Meadville Wolves Club Den #11, VFW Post #2006, Meadville Eagles Club and the former Meadville Club.

Pete is survived by three children, Mary Ellen Muse (William Jr.) of Jamestown, John Spinnato (Beth) of Conneaut Lake, Scott Spinnato (Sheri) of Saegertown; six grandchildren, Scott Spinnato, Jr. (Kelin) of Meadville, Christina Dean of Meadville, Joseph Spinnato of Meadville, Sarah Muse Lind (Dusty) of Franklin, William Muse, III (Crystal) of Franklin, Nick Strimbu IV; nine great-grandchildren, Lilliana, Mackenzie, Jory, Justus, Blake, Hayden, Logan, Lorna, and Addisyn; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brother Sam Spinnato, sisters Ann LaCorte, Grace Spinnato, Bea Sherry and daughter in law Karen Spinnato.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2-6 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water Street, Meadville, with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas, Pastor, officiating. Military Honors by VFW Post #2006 will follow.

Pete will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery.
