Ralph Arnold Acker

Ralph Arnold Acker, 71, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, at home, surrounded by his family.

Ralph was born in Meadville, on May 4, 1951, a son of the late Arnold L. and Germaine (Hager) Acker.

On October 17, 2008, Ralph married Judy M. Groves Troy; she survives.

He attended Saegertown United Methodist Church.

A 1969 graduate of Saegertown High School, Ralph also attended Penn State University for a year. He worked on the family farm prior to staring his own general construction business, which led him to establishing his own successful electrical business, R.A. Acker Electric, where he continued to work up until the last weeks of his life. Ralph was committed to his business, loved his work and maintained a great rapport with his customers. He took pride in his craft and in the fact that he was very honest. Ralph was definitely a people person and enjoyed memberships at Vernon Central, the Italian Civic Club, Linesville Masonic Lodge #498, Conneaut Lake Sportsman's Association, and Conneaut Lake Volunteer Fire Department Station 3. His hobbies included restoring and tinkering with old machinery and old tractors. No matter what Ralph was doing, he would put a smile on someone's face and his conversations were nothing short of legendary. His spirit was fun and loving. Time spent at family gatherings was important to him, especially time spent with his grandchildren. Ralph will be remembered as a big man with an even bigger heart. He will be sadly missed.

In addition to his loving wife, Judy of 14 years, Ralph is survived by two children Michael B. Acker (Pam) of Vancouver, WA, Matthew B. Acker (April) of Christiana, TN; two step children Kaylan Morrell (Bo) of Cochranton, Aaron Troy of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren Derek, Samantha and Seth Acker, Cash, Hank, and Bristol Morrell; three sisters Dodie Agnew of Conneautville, Kathy Gustafson, Karla Gustafson both of Pittsburgh; two brothers Scott Gustafson (Karen) of Pittsburgh, Larry Gustafson (Emily) of Clymer, NY; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Ralph was preceded in death by his father and step mother Arnold and Ida Mae Acker; his mother and step father Germaine and Jim Warren; and his brother in law Dennis Agnew.

Family and friends are invited to call from 3-6 PM on Monday, November 7, 2022, at Saegertown United Methodist Church, 620 Euclid Ave., Saegertown, where a Memorial Service will follow at 6 PM with Pastor Jeffrey Little officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ralph's memory to Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, PA 16335 or Saegertown United Methodist Church, PO Box 689, Saegertown, PA 16433.
