Raymond L. Swogger, 82, of Townville, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Meadville Medical Center.
Ray was born at home in Stoneboro, on February 15, 1939, a son of the late Floyd Atwell and Alma M. (Spieker) Swogger.
On October 12, 1963 Ray married Bonnie L. Eiler; she survives.
He attended Lyona Bible Church, Guys Mills.
Ray retired from the former Andover Industries and had previously been employed by the former Avtex Fibers. A hard worker, he also worked as a dairy farmer and was skilled at various trades. He was a 1957 graduate of Lakeview High School. He was long time member of Davis Hose where he was a 1st Lieutenant. He was also a member of The Civil Patrol. His hobbies included golfing, bowling, fishing, hunting and gardening.
In addition to his wife, Bonnie, of 57 years, Ray is survived by three children James "Jim" A. Swogger (Laura) of Robinsville, NC, Valerie Latshaw of Townville, Scott M. Swogger (Rita) of Cochranton; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, from 3-5 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where funeral services will follow with Pastor Glen VanCise, of Chapmansville Community Church, Titusville, officiating.
Ray will be laid to rest in Kingsley Cemetery, Townville.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ray's memory to any volunteer fire department or a charity of donor's choice.
