Raymond "Ray" Riden, 87, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Meadville Medical Center
Ray was born in Elizabeth, on May 30, 1934, a son of the late Thurston T. and Sara N. (Wynkoup) Riden.
He was an active member of Saegertown United Methodist Church.
Upon graduation from Elizabeth High School, Ray served four years with the US Air Force, Head Quarters, 9th A. F. at Shaw Air Force Base, Sumter, South Carolina. During this time he met and married the love of his life, Carol A. Cashdollar. He was employed as a Field Service Manager for Xerox Corp., White Plains, NY for 32 years. Over the years he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son Scott and camping with his family. Ray was a life member of the Saegertown Sportsmen's Club where he was a past president and served on the board of directors. He was an avid trap-shooter and earned many awards at the local and state levels. For over 20 years he volunteered at the Crawford County Treasure's Office, processing doe licenses. Ray also volunteered as a cancer society driver transporting patients to Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Buffalo.
In addition to his wife Carol of 63 years, Ray is survived by a son Scott W. Riden (Linda); grandchildren Hailey, Emiley and Grant Riden; a sister Gertrude R. Kepple; nephews David (Joey), Dale (Cindy), Donald (Elaine) Kepple; niece Laura Hathorn (Andy); nephew George Fleegle; and brother-in-law Dr. William (Nancy) Cashdollar.
He was preceded in death by his sister Sara Jean Fleegle.
A Memorial Service will be held at Saegertown United Methodist Church, 620 Euclid Ave., Saegertown, at 11 AM on Saturday, September 25, 2021, with Pastor Jeff Little officiating.
Ray will be laid to rest in Mars Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saegertown United Methodist, Church PO Box 689, Saegertown, PA 16433.
