Richard Alvin Nageotte, 60, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at his home.
Richard was born in Meadville, on July 16, 1961, a son of the late Richard E. and Joanne P. (Bowler) Nageotte.
Following his 1979 graduation from Saegertown High School, Richard entered the US Coast Guard on June 25, 1979 and was honorably discharged on June 24, 1983. He went on to serve his country as a member of the US Army from July 3, 1984 until May 4, 1987. He was a recipient of the Army Service Ribbon, Lapel Pin, Rifle Sharpshooter Certification, Parachute Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge and Army Good Conduct Medal. He was an electrician and over the years had been employed by Meadville Plating, Greenleaf Corporation, D.I.C. Tool, and Werner Ladder of Greenville. Richard enjoyed talking walks, socializing, and caring for his cats. He was grateful for the services he received from Life-NWPA. He will be most remembered as being kind, giving, and family oriented. He will be sadly missed.
Richard is survived by three children Elizabeth Nageotte of Meadville, Ronald Nageotte (Pam), Benjamin Nageotte (Angela), both of Madison, OH; six grandchildren Ziphyr McCracken, Gabriella McCracken, Daemon Phillips, Xavier Coan, Kayelee Coan, Cole Coan; three sisters Christy Wakefield (Edward) of Daytona Beach, FL, twins Rosa Nageotte, Ruth Nageotte both of Meadville; three brothers Michael Nageotte (Sharon) of Saegertown, Stephen Nageotte (Belle) of Burkesville, KY, Philip Nageotte (Dawn) of Conneautville; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at St. Agatha Cemetery, with Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006.
Arrangements are under the direction of STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
