Richard "Dick" L. Kanline, Sr.

Richard "Dick" L. Kanline, Sr., 80, of Meadville, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at home after a year long battle with cancer.

Dick was born in Pittsburgh, on July 31, 1941, a son of the late Clarence M. and Mabel (Pensyl) Kanline.

On January 2, 1971 Dick and his beloved Helen "Lucy" J. Ball were married by President Judge John Brosky in Pittsburgh; she preceded him in death on May 28, 2015.

Dick was a 1959 graduate of Richland High School in Gibsonia, PA He was a self employed entrepreneur having owned and operated his own companies for many years. A member of the Meadville Elks Club, Dick enjoyed staying busy. He was an active fund raiser for Hospice of Crawford County, an avid golfer and hunter and he also enjoyed bowling. Dick and Lucy spent many winters at their condo in Bradenton, Florida, enjoying the sunshine, cruising, golfing and traveling.

Dick was a loving father and is survived by his four children Debra A. Randolph, (Kurt), Richard L. Kanline, Jr. (Brenda), Linda S. Kanline (Chuck Gee), Karen L. Beerbower (Jeff); eight grandchildren Erin Shaw, Justin Randolph, Ryan Randolph, Ricky Kanline, III, Elizabeth Kelemen, Michael Reed, Joshua Beerbower, Seth Beerbower; and 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife Lucy of 43 years, Dick was preceded in death by his only sister, Betty Lyman.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2-6 PM on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will be held on Sunday at 1:30 PM.

Dick will be laid to rest next to his wife, Lucy, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Township and will be lovingly missed by his family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Dick's memory to the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, or Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty St., both in Meadville, PA 16335.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Orzano-Birgani, the many nurses and staff of the Yolando G. Barco Oncology Institute for the excellent care that they provided.
