Richard Lee Dietz, 59, of Saegertown, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Meadville Medical Center.
Richard was born in Meadville, on July 30, 1954, a son of the late Harold Eugene and Mide Mae (Swavey) Dietz.
He was a member of Saegertown United Methodist Church.
For over 30 years Richard was employed by the former McCrosky Tool. He attended Saegertown High School, the Crawford County Vocational Technical School for the Machine Shop trade, and later earned his G.E.D. A member of A.B.A.T.E., Richard loved his Harley Davidson, cars, NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, and hunting. But what he loved most in life was his daughter Eva.
Richard is survived by his daughter, with whom he lived, Evalina Marie Baker, her husband Robert and her companion Lee Smith of Saegertown, who were like sons to Richard, a grandson Sebastian Lee Baker of Saegertown, a sister in law Barb Dietz of Saegertown and his trusted dog and friend K-2 who will also miss him.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a brother Walter E. Dietz.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 5-7 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown, where Funeral services will be held at 7 PM with Rev. Darrell L. Greenawalt, Pastor of Saegertown United Methodist Church, officiating.
Richard will be laid to rest in Brookhouser Cemetery, Saegertown.
