Robert A. Grayson, 87, of 20881 State Hwy. 198, Saegertown, formerly of 546 Grant St., Saegertown, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011, at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.
Robert was born in Erie, on March 9, 1924, a son of the late William and Thelma (Arnold) Grieshaber.
On March 13, 1954, Robert married Janet Marvin; she survives.
He was a member of Saegertown United Methodist Church.
Robert had been employed by the former Central Tractor for ten years, where he worked in sales, delivery and inventory. He had previously been employed by the former Spencer Hospital and prior to that had done construction work for many years. A WW II veteran, Robert entered the US Army on March 19, 1943 where he served with the 541 Parachute Infantry until his honorable discharge on February 26, 1946. He attended schools in Cleveland, OH. He was a former member of Saegertown American Legion and Meadville Eagles Club. His hobbies included wood working.
In addition to his wife Janet of 57 years, Robert is survived by four sons Richard Grieshaber and his wife Rosa of Erie, John Lewis of California, Jan R. Grayson and his wife Tracy of Saegertown, P. Scott Grayson and his wife Kim of Meadville, a daughter Roberta Guy of Erie, five grandchildren Samantha Grayson, Heather Grayson, Roger Grayson, Sarah Pinner, Kory Beebe, nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a sister Letha Geros, two brothers Richard Grieshaber. and Charles Arnold.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
