Robert "Bob" D. Brunot, 91, of Saegertown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Crawford County Care Center with his wife by his side.
Bob was born in Meadville, on January 23, 1929, a son of the late Ernest and Thelma (Prenatt) Brunot.
On February 12, 1949 Bob married Louise DeMaison at St. Agatha Church; she survives.
Bob was an active member of St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church where he served as a lector, Eucharistic Minister, altar server and was a member of the Holy Name Society.
After 40 years of service, Bob retired in 1990 as a Chief Lineman for Penelec. Prior to that he was employed by Asphland Tree Service. He was a graduate of Saegertown High School and had been a member of the American Rescue Squad. A baseball enthusiast, Bob was a charter organizer of what became known as the Saegertown Area American Legion Baseball Program. He enjoyed playing as well as coaching. Over the years he coached countless baseball and softball youth teams in both Saegertown and Meadville. In his years after retirement, Bob and Louise loved to travel and camp with their Toyota camper, especially to visit their children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, following a variety of sports, and most of all time spent with family.
In addition to his wife, Louise, of 71 years, Bob is survived by three sons James Brunot (Cindy) of Clarkdale, AZ, William Brunot (Sally) of Winchester, VA, John Brunot (Susan) of Agua Dulce, CA; 11 grandchildren Jacob, Ronna, Anna, Jessica, Zachary, Sadie, Carleigh, Kaylan, Charris, Cody, Ian; 12 great grandchildren; a sister Joan Partridge of Franklin; a brother David Brunot (Christine) of Meadville; a daughter in law Beth Brunot of Saegertown; two brothers in law William Cooper of Conneaut, OH, John Thompson of PA; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Brunot; two sisters, Ruthanne Thompson, Patricia Cooper; two brothers, Daniel Brunot, Richard Brunot and his wife Gloria.
Due to the Covid pandemic, services will be scheduled for a future date which will be announced.
Bob will be laid to rest in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thank you to those in the community of Saegertown who so kindly and graciously stepped up to assist the family during the Covid pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, as Bob was a lifelong supporter of youth sports, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Saegertown High School Softball Boosters c/o Craig Guy, 16641 Huson Road, Saegertown, PA 16433.
